The identity of this figure appears rather enigmatic at first glance; he has, in fact, lost the attached attributes with which his hands were endowed and which could have allowed him to be formally identified. Nevertheless, he is probably the Hindu god Vishnu: the tubular decoration that accompanies the finials of his tiara can be seen on other headdresses that he wears in Nepalese art.
