The work and its artist

Gustave Eiffel (1832-1923)

Gustave Eiffel was a French engineer and entrepreneur of the late 19th century, essentially known for the construction of the tower bearing his name in Paris. He made his career by building engineering structures in iron, an innovative material for the time that allowed for the construction of structures that could not be made of stone.
