The most visited paid monument in the world
Inaugurated during the Universal Exhibition of 1889, it was the tallest existing building at the time. The tower had to be dismantled, but Gustave Eiffel saved it by making it a lightning rod. It also served as a radio antenna during the First World War, and later as a general public radio station. Today, the skyscrapers have overtaken it, but it is part of history and continues to fascinate young and old.
The Eiffel Tower is regaining its former colors.
The "Iron Lady" is currently repainted in yellow-brown, its historic color from the beginning of the 20th century. A book to accompany children on this journey into the past...
