Le Corbusier (1887-1965)

Born Charles-Édouard Jeanneret-Gris, Le Corbusier is a French architect, painter and decorator of Swiss origin. Adept of clean lines, the artist wanted to create a pure style because for him "Where order is born, well-being is born". It is from this observation that Purism was born, in the lineage of cubism, this movement advocates simple forms, organization and rigor. More than an architectural program, it is a social vision that Le Corbusier intends to put in place, the creation of a space where the inhabitant feels good and where he can circulate and blossom. It is notably the project of the radiant city that he conceived in Marseilles in 1952. Le Corbusier is an avant-gardist, an utopian and without a doubt one of the fathers of modern architecture.
