This is the French edition of the book about Italian paintings of the 17th century from musée du Louvre.
After a first volume devoted to the Bolognese school, this book serves to complete the annotated catalogue of 17th century Italian paintings at musée du Louvre.
Following similar principles, it takes into account the paintings from the other artistic hotbeds (Florence, Genoa, Lombardy, Naples, Rome and Venice). Each work of art is studied as completely as possible, so as to gather and assess the knowledge of this magnificent series.

You will also find detailed notes to 181 of the paintings kept at musée du Louvre as well as to the decors frescoed by Giovanni Francesco Romanelli in four rooms of the Palais du Louvre, to which are added 90 other works kept outside of the museum.

The study's chronological limits are the same as in the first volume: artists whose birthdates are comprised between 1555 and 1654 were taken into account.
