Pastels of the Louvre from 17e and 18e centuries

With the Palace of Versailles, the Louvre Museum has the chance to keep the national reference collection of European pastels from the 17th and 18th centuries. Mostly painted in the golden age of pastel (18th century), these works, extremely fragile because created with a colored powder that has often been compared to that covering the wings of butterfly , allow to measure all the genius of the artists who executed them.
