It was not until her body of work was discovered in a storage room in the United States in 2007 that the public became aware of Vivian Maier.
She was born in New York in 1926. Her father was of Austro-Hungarian origin and her mother was French, which led her to live in France several times in her youth. She began working as a governess in 1951, first in New York and then, until the 1990s, in Chicago, where she died in the spring of 2009.
His work consists of more than 120,000 photographic images, super 8 and 16 mm films, various recordings, scattered photographs, and a multitude of undeveloped films, like so many fascinating finds.

Thanks to unpublished archives and new scientific analyses, this book compares several aspects of his creation and sheds new light on his work.
