Following the success of Concept Car - Pure Beauty in 2019-2020, the National Car Museum at the Château de Compiègne and the Réunion des musées nationaux - Grand Palais are planning a new exhibition in 2021 devoted to the history of locomotion. Spread out in the rooms of the castle and linking the vehicles presented with the fabulous royal and imperial decorations, the Vitesse exhibition will offer the public a reflection on the human attraction for speed, from the origins of the history of land transport to the present day. From the Roman chariot preserved in the collections of the National Car Museum to the most recent record-breaking vehicles, the exhibition will offer a panorama of what the desire to go fast has inspired to the most diverse creators, through some fifty horse-drawn and motor vehicles, cycles and a hundred prints, drawings, paintings and sculptures.
