The Art of the Feast at the Valois Court

With these words, Gian Battista Gambara, Mantua's ambassador to the French court, underlined the effervescence and magnificence of the festivities at the time of the Valois In the spring of 2022, the Château de Fontainebleau will bring to life the sumptuous festivities held at the court of the Valois, from the reign of Francis I to that of Henri III. A hundred or so works from the greatest international museums, such as the Uffizi Gallery - Palazzo Pitti in Florence and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, will enable visitors to understand how these festivities unfolded and to grasp all their splendour.
