Almost a century ago, no book had come to unravel the complex history of this vast building and present its architecture, decorations and furnishings.
This little guide first of all details the history of the Palais-Royal and its numerous extensions, refurbishments and transformations. The second part proposes a tour through the main salons of the Ministry of Culture and Communication, the Council of State and the Constitutional Council, then a walk through the garden, with a special stop at the Grand Véfour, whose superb decorations are listed in the supplementary inventory of historical monuments, and finally a visit to the two theatres.
