The Musée de Cluny has just completed the most important renovation of its museography since the 1950s. Following its reopening to the public, its scientific team looks back at the ideas and principles that governed this metamorphosis, in the service of a reference collection in the field of medieval art. In this four-part book, she proposes to reveal and explain to the reader the way in which she has renewed her view of the works, rethought their relationship to the museum's architectural setting and constructed a new discourse.
It is the making of the museum that we touch here, in its concepts and in its materiality, before going to contemplate it in the new light of the thermal baths and the Gothic hotel of Cluny.
