In July 2022, the National Museum of Scotland found, by chance, an unpublished self-portrait by Vincent van Gogh, hidden under layers of glue and cardboard, on the back of a painting by the Dutch painter, The Head of a Peasant Girl with a White Hat . "This is a wonderful gift to Scotland that will forever be in the hands of the National Gallery of Scotland! » declares the museum curator.
Leah immediately leaves to meet him, sent to Edinburgh by her superior, director of the Van Gogh Museum in Amsterdam, to negotiate the return of the painting to its land of origin. But secretly, she pursues a different goal: the back of the canvas reveals another man... Who is he? Leah traces the thread of the painter's life to find out.
One painting hid another, a man hid another too, and she hoped that this self-portrait would support her thesis. Under the dappled clouds of Edinburgh, she was ready to climb to the castle dungeon to confront this other Vincent.
