This 4 Colours pen pink was created for the exhibition "Gertrude Stein and Pablo Picasso The Invention of Language" at the Musée du Luxembourg from 13 September 2023 to 28 January 2024.

The title is inspired by one of Stein's most famous quotations, "Rose is a rose is a rose is a rose." First coined in a poem titled Sacred Emily (1913), the first "Rose" was originally the name of a person. The phrase developed and came to mean "things are what they are." This motif is characteristic of the modernist outlook of their era, and has been incorporated into contemporary popular culture.
