In 1951 the artist illustrated the Face of Peace, a book by his friend Paul Éluard, surrealist poet. After the Second World War, aware of the need to commit to peace, Picasso became a fervent activist. The book contains 29 lithographs. This tea towel is part of the "Toiles de Maîtres" collection.
