Designed to harmonize with 19th-century Parisian architecture, Morris columns were used to display promotional material for plays and shows. This one features a fountain adorned with a lion-headed mascaron, echoed by the six feline heads punctuating the hexagonal canopy that protects the posters from the elements. Crowned by a scaly dome surmounted by an arrow, the column is an emblem of the Parisian landscape.
Hand-painted resin reproduction (green paint, as on "period" columns).
