The Morane-Saulnier MS.406 is an excellent French fighter designed in 1938. It was a single-seat, low-wing aircraft of modern design and excellent performance. In 1940, it became a staple of French aviation. Polish pilots also flew this aircraft as part of the Polish Air Force established in France in 1940. Even before the outbreak of war, Poland ordered aircraft of this type.

Unfortunately, they were not delivered on time. The aircraft could be found in many armies and was used by both Allied and Axis powers. It was used for the longest time, until 1959, in neutral Switzerland.
