				WRITTEN IN FRENCH
This book, dedicated to André Masson, pays tribute to the American journalist Varian Fry, who in 1941 allowed many artists and intellectuals to leave Europe and the Vichy regime for the United States.
Sixty works, mainly from the collections of the family of André Masson and the Cantini Museum of Marseille, are associated to show all the richness of this period.
The sequence begins with Massacre and ends with La Fable des Origines. We follow André Masson into an exile where nature becomes allegory of the mortal confrontation of men; only man faces the world: forty-four drawings and sixteen paintings prove to us masterfully.
Exhibition at the musée Cantini in 2016.
