The most modern French fighter of the Second World War period. The Dewoitine D.520 was designed and built in 1938 by the aeronautical company Société nationale des constructions aéronautiques du Midi. The Dewoitine D.520 was an all-metal, low-wing, single-seat fighter. Series production began in March 1939, and continued despite the surrender of France in 1940. Additional models were produced for the Vichy government, the Luftwaffe, and the Italian, Bulgarian and Romanian armies. Polish pilots defending France were equipped with 26 aircraft of this type during the German invasion of 1940. In all, some 755 units of the fighter were produced. The design proved so effective that the aircraft remained in service until 1953 after the war.
With 335 COBI bricks, you can build a faithful model of the Dewoitine D.520 fighter in 1:32 scale. The historical camouflage and markings (La France de Vichy) have been reproduced using high-quality prints that won't fade even with intensive use. The model features moving parts such as a propeller, ailerons, an opening cockpit and folding wheels. The set also includes a French pilot figure with oxygen mask. The set is completed by a black brick display stand with a plaque bearing the model's name.
