"What they say is addressed to all of us as long as we are
I use animals to instruct men", says the storyteller,

I have gone further: trees and plants have become talking creatures for me.

If for 400 years La Fontaine has continued to enchant adults and children alike, it is because, according to his plan, each of his Fables constitutes a human comedy, each fable is a story in which the greatness and shortcomings of the human or animal actors are depicted in a few words.
This sense of formula only needed to meet the lively and spontaneous line of Catherine Meurisse, accustomed to sketch in a drawing this human comedy, to depict the world with humor, clairvoyance and sensitivity.
