The Summer Olympic games that will take place in Paris in 2024 are the opportunity, for Monnaie de Paris to celebrate this major international competition through a series celebrating Sport, its values and the athletes. Olympism and Paralympism will be highlighted on those products, struck in France in our art workshops.

In 2023, we are developing a collection of medallions representing the 26 letters of the Alphabet illustrated by 26 Olympic and Paralympic sports.

At the Paralympic Games, para-canoeing involves only sprint events in two types of boats: kayak or pirogue. The latter, called "Va'a", made its debut at the 2020 Paralympic Games in Tokyo. The rules for para-canoeing are the same as for the Olympic Games, with two exceptions: the races are held over 200m only and the width of the kayak's bottom is greater than that of conventional boats.
