The "Vitesse" exhibition and the accompanying catalogue propose to retrace the evolution of the concept of speed and the subtle link it has with that of modernity, thanks to some of the landmark vehicles in its history.
Through essays by specialists and notes on horse-drawn vehicles, automobiles and bicycles, this book aims to offer a panorama of what the desire to go fast has inspired in all artistic forms, from automotive creations to the plastic arts, via literature and cinema.
Designed as a counterpart to the "Concept-Car - Pure Beauty" catalogue, with illustrated essays on prints, paintings and sculptures, followed by notes on some fifty vehicles, accompanied by a chronology and lists of works that make this book a reference that will appeal to enthusiasts and specialists.
