The Summer Olympic games that will take place in Paris in 2024 are the opportunity, for Monnaie de Paris to celebrate this major international competition through a series celebrating Sport, its values and the athletes. Olympism and Paralympism will be highlighted on those products, struck in France in our art workshops.

In 2023, we are developing a collection of medallions representing the 26 letters of the Alphabet illustrated by 26 Olympic and Paralympic sports.

Although Hawaii is considered the birthplace of modern surfing, it was practised throughout the Polynesian archipelago as early as 1000 AD. Surfers perform manoeuvres and tricks on a wave and are then scored by five judges based on the variety of their sequences, the type of tricks performed and their difficulty. Surfing made its debut at the Tokyo 2020 Games, with shortboard as the only discipline.
