Monet moved to a small property in Giverny, in the Seine valley, in 1883.
He became the owner in 1893 and arranged especially a water garden whose water lilies, irises and willow trees are world-famous thanks to Monet's beautiful frameless aquatic landscapes.
Claude Monet's paintings of flowers from his garden in Giverny perfectly illustrate the evolution of fine art towards modern impressionism.
