As the residence chosen by Napoleon III and Eugenie to receive hundreds of guests, the Château de Fontainebleau underwent remarkable renovations during the Second Empire. On the occasion of the 150th anniversary of the emperor's death, this book invites us to follow in the footsteps of the photographers who immortalised the château in the 19th century through the publication of stereoscopic views. These juxtapose two thumbnails which, thanks to an optical effect, make it possible to compose a relief image.
The stereoscopic views of the gardens, facades and interiors from the château's collections offer the viewer an incredible discovery of the palace of Fontainebleau under the Second Empire.
