Medals and coins

The Summer Olympic games that will take place in Paris in 2024 are the opportunity, for Monnaie de Paris to celebrate this major international competition through a series celebrating Sport, its values and the athletes. Olympism and Paralympism will be highlighted on those products, struck in France in our art workshops.

In 2023, we are developing a collection of medallions representing the 26 letters of the Alphabet illustrated by 26 Olympic and Paralympic sports.

Wrestling is one of the oldest sports in history, if not the oldest. It was included in the ancient Olympic Games in 708 BC. In its modern form, it is divided into two grappling disciplines: Greco-Roman wrestling, a direct descendant of the sport of antiquity, and freestyle wrestling, which made its debut at the 1904 Games in Saint Louis.
