WRITTEN IN FRENCH
A forerunner of modern art, Paul Cezanne was born in 1839 in Aix-en-Provence, a town at the gates of which his father acquired a bastide, the Jas de Bouffan.
This special edition explores the primordial place of this place in the life and work of Cezanne, where he learned painting, and which was his refuge for 40 years. From his still lifes to his portraits and self-portraits, from his genre scenes, such as card players, to the series of bathers and bathers, not to mention his landscapes, this number returns to the main themes inspired by the Jas de Bouffan, which is the subject of an exhibition at the Musée Granet in Aix-en-Provence.
Exhibition « Cezanne au Jas de Bouffan » at the musée Granet, Aix-en-Provence, from 28 June to 12 October 2025.
Reopening of the Jas de Bouffan after a complete renovation in June 2025.
