Through 6 essays by art historians and design specialists, the catalog presents the revival brought by today's industrial production and manufacturing models.
Drawing on a selection of works from the design collections of the Centre Pompidou, the Centre National des Arts Plastiques (CNAP), the Mobilier National and the Musée des Arts Décoratifs de Paris (MAD), this exhibition, in collaboration with the Villa Noailles, brings together some 50 designers in 150 works for the Toulon Design Parade Festival, exploring the paths of sustainable design and providing a better understanding of its many approaches. Through a thematic tour, the exhibition focuses on the renewal of industrial production and manufacturing models brought about by designers today. Faced with the urgency of climate change, design is adapting and creating new everyday uses. Designers are engaged in the search for solutions with a strong social and ecological dimension: open and collaborative practices, the fight against obsolescence and pollution, reuse and recycling, innovative materials, biofabrication....In the quest for alternatives, sustainable design invests all possibilities.
Exhibition on the occasion of the Toulon Design Parade Festival in the villa Noailles from 23 June to 5 November 2023.
