A pioneer of abstract art, Kandinsky was one of the most important figures within modern art. The exhibition offers a new look at the artist's late period, a less well-known but very prolific time for the artist. Kandinsky arrived in France having fled Nazi Germany in December 1933, moving into an apartment in Neuilly-sur-Seine. The exhibition offers a new look at the artist's late period, a less well-known but very prolific time for the artist. Kandinsky arrived in France having fled Nazi Germany in December 1933, moving into an apartment in Neuilly-sur-Seine. Over ten years he was to develop a new style known as "biomorphic", a synthesis of the geometric vocabulary of the Bauhaus years and early abstractions in the 1910s. The exhibition has been organised in partnership with the Musée National d'Art Moderne which has loaned over 60 of Kandinsky's paintings and drawings for the occasion. Close
