Dora Maar painter and photographer was the companion of Picasso in the front-war years. It was the privileged witness of the creation of Guernica which she photographed various stages of this iconic painting of the 20th century.
Picasso painted many portraits of Dora in the guise of a woman tormented, symbolic of the political atmosphere of this period.
The original work (46x55cm - oil) is preserved at the Musée Picasso in Paris. Donation in 1979.
