Created in 1845, it is from 1852, with the arrival at the head of the establishment of Adrien Dubouché, director of exception and a great generosity (it enriches the collections of a gift of 4000 pieces ceramic), that the museum knew a remarkable influence and supported the porcelain industry of Limoges. It presents the techniques and objects of the four great ceramic families (pottery, earthenware, sandstone, porcelain) and devotes two large sections to Limoges porcelain and Chinese porcelain. It also exhibits a remarkable collection of glasses from the Middle Ages to the twentieth century.
