The book offers a walk through the heart of Impressionist and Nabis gardens from 1860 to 1940.
The catalogue follows the path of the exhibition, following a thematic and chronological approach from the 1860s to the 1940s: a hundred or so paintings, photographs, drawings and prints explore the search for nature in the city by the Impressionists, who invited themselves into the gardens of their friends and family, but also how the artists of the two movements took over the squares and public gardens, all of which were backdrops for women readers, sewers and dreamers, right up to the lush garden, the beginnings of the dreamed Arcadia.
