Begun in 1975 and now comprising some 7,000 images ranging from the 19th century to the 1960s, the Gilman collection is one of the most remarkable in the world.
A choice of 140 photographs from the photo collection of Sondra Gilman and her husband Celso Gonzalez-Falla, almost always vintage silver prints, are presented around a portrait theme.
These "Presences" who rub shoulders with their collectors will accompany us through a history of photography because most of the artists are major photographers from the end of the 19th century to today, in Europe and the United States.
An exhibition not to be missed, which will then travel to several European and American museums.
