Archaeologists, true pioneers and discoverers of treasures in the heart of the unknown regions of the globe, resistance of the first hour and companions of liberation... Joseph and Marie Hackin met in Paris in the mid-1920s, when Joseph was curator of the Musée Guimet. Together, they will travel the world from one side to the other on four major scientific missions as adventures, leading during these journeys decisive research on East and Asian art. For the first time, their fictional life with a tragic fate, their careers as scientists and the importance of their respective roles in the early months of free France are told here, in the light of new research and rich iconography.

Exhibition presented from 15 June to 16 September 2018 at the Musée de l'Ordre de la Libération and the Musée de l'Armée (Corridor de Perpignan) for its documentary part.
