Beyond the inevitable reign of Henry IV, the guide also proposes to introduce the reader to other famous episodes of the castle's history.
The collections of the Château de Pau are of a very rich variety, coming from the decorations created under the July Monarchy for the ceremonial apartments, the daily functioning of the former palace in the 19th century, the collections of works built around the figure of Henri IV, as well as representations of the Château de Pau. Under Louis-Philippe, the architectural transformation of the Château de Pau was accompanied by the creation of a sumptuous interior decoration, a true evocation of a Renaissance palace. Finally, the history and legend of Henry IV are an important part of the collections.
In three chapters, the guide to Pau Castle offers a detailed exploration of its various aspects, through paintings, drawings, sculptures and art objects, from the 16th to the 20th century.
