WRITTEN IN FRENCH
"The Atomic Age" visits modernity through the artistic representations inspired by the visualization and scientific, political and cultural uses of the atom from the discovery of radioactivity to Fukushima.
Both historical and thematic, the book is divided into 3 large parts presenting a significant number of emblematic works and brings together complementary documents, allowing to contextualize the events . An introductory essay will open each part. The corpus of works will be interspersed with focus shedding light on an artist or a theme . Short interviews with contemporary artists will close the book.
A chronology covering events related to political history, the history of science and the history of art, interspersed with numerous short quotes, will offer a complete panorama at the end of the book.
Preface by Maylis de Kerangal.
