This catalog has been published to coincide with the exhibition "Gabriele Münter: peindre sans détours" at the Musée d'Art moderne de la Ville de Paris from April 4 to August 24, 2025.

The first retrospective of Gabriele Münter's work in France. This pioneer of modern art, disciple and companion of Vassily Kandinsky, began her career in Paris, exhibiting for the first time in 1907. Following in her mentor's footsteps, she joined the Nouvelle Association and later the Blaue Reiter. The landscapes they painted at their house in Murnau heralded abstraction.
