Macon&Lesquoy x Musée d'Orsay
Size: about 2,7x4cm

An exclusive collaboration for a remarkable 40th anniversary.

The Musée d'Orsay houses the world's richest collection of Impressionist and Post-Impressionist art. These works are an inexhaustible source of inspiration and discovery for the creators of Macon&Lesquoy, who consider the museum their second office.

The two houses are partnering for the second time on a collection of original brooches.
These six brooches reinterpret Impressionist masterpieces from the collections.
They aim to convey the emotion created by the vibrancy of the colors, the rapidity of the brushwork, and the texture of the paint-hallmarks of this movement.

The work and its artist

Pierre-Auguste Renoir (1841-1919)

Renoir is one of the main representatives of the impressionist movement whose paintings are composed of touches of colour, set in small commas, where black and line do not exist. During this period, he painted scenes from modern popular and social life, portraits, landscapes. From 1880, Renoir began to change the way he painted. He stands out from the impressionists; his style becomes more classical.
