FRENCH VERSION
Published on the occasion of the artist's retrospective « Calder. Rêver en équilibre » at the Louis Vuitton Foundation from April 15, 2026 to August 16, 2026, this book brings together more than 300 works by Alexander Calder, one of the most influential and celebrated artists of the 20th century. This book testifies to Calder's deep link with France, and traces the development of his work from the 1920s to his demise in 1976. He also envisions how his iron wire, mobile and stable sculptures have resonated with the masterpieces of his contemporaries, such as Paul Klee and Wassily Kandinsky, as well as his close circle where Jean Arp, Joan Miró and Fernand Léger were featured.
