Exhibition presenting, for the first time in France, the collections of the Massimo and Sonia Cirulli Foundation, whose aim is to promote Italian visual culture of the 20th century.
This is a private collection, guided by the eyes of a couple of collectors, like the collection of Pierre and Denise Lévy, at the origin of the Museum of Modern Art of Troyes.
The exhibition presents the art of the years 1900-1960 in Italy, a period of great artistic evolutions, which resonates directly with the collections of the Museum of Modern Art of Troyes, from the neo-impressionists to the second School of Paris, including the cubists.
This exhibition aims, like the Cirulli collection, to show a broad vision of Italian art, from painting to design, including architecture and cinema, through a collection of diverse and varied works, objects and documents. The exhibition
is curated by Juliette Faivre-Preda, curator of the Musée d'Art Moderne de Troyes and Jeffrey T. Schnapp, founder and director of metaLAB@Harvard, professor of romantic and comparative literature at the Harvard University Graduate School of Design and co-faculty director of the Berkman Klein Center for Internet and Society.
