Because illustration has its place in museums, the Musée d'Orsay and KIBLIND are offering a collection of exclusive posters printed in risography by KIBLIND Atelier.
With the aim of initiating a timeless dialogue between artists of yesterday and today, French and international illustrators Manon Diemer, Mayumi Otero (Icinori), María Medem, Karlotta Freier, María Jesús Contreras and Jisu Choi were invited to reinterpret masterpieces from the Musée d'Orsay collections in the form of comic stories.
"Like Courbet, I have represented myself in my creative space, surrounded by my works. Here, I engage in the ongoing dialogue about artistic heritage, gender and representation, reimagining the role of the artist not as a solitary genius, but as a person deeply connected to her environment and relationships." - Karlotta Freier

Karlotta Freier, trained at New York's prestigious School of Visual Arts, doesn't just use meticulous lines and bold colors: she transforms our environment. By shifting the way we look at the world, she succeeds in projecting onto the page a new reality where feelings regain their rights. It's a step aside that she regularly proposes to us in the pages of the Los Angeles Times and in advertisements for Hermès.
