The book begins to come to life in the summer of 2014 when the author discovers the streets of Montmartre and falls in love with a little bronze cat in the window of the shop "Antiquités Montcalm". This little cat now lives in California with the author and her family.
Antiques and old objects can move and inspire us even hundreds, if not thousands, of years after they were created. They make us question the world as it was: how people lived and worked, what they thought, what they dreamed and what they did.
People of the past inspire us! In the late 1800s, life in Montmartre was exciting. It still is today. In 1881, the French government passed a new law that defined freedom of the press. Montmartre then became an epicenter of creativity and freedom of expression.
