March 18, 2025 July 6, 2025 Exhibition has ended

The 'Art is in the Street' exhibition at the Musée d'Orsay from 18 March to 6 July 2025 examines the spectacular rise of the illustrated poster in Paris in the second half of the 19th century. Co-organised in partnership with the Bibliothèque nationale de France, the exhibition is a first on this scale. In fact, in Paris, no major event has yet been devoted to this social phenomenon, bringing together so many outstanding works by the 'Masters of the poster'. Bonnard, Chéret, Grasset, Mucha, Steinlen, Toulouse-Lautrec.

Sculpture Morris Column

RF008123
  • Current price€ 375
Designed to harmonize with 19th-century Parisian architecture, Morris columns were used to display promotional material for plays and shows. This one features a fountain adorned with a lion-headed mascaron, echoed by the six feline heads punctuating the hexagonal canopy that protects the posters from the elements. Crowned by a scaly dome surmounted by an arrow, the column is an emblem of the Parisian landscape.

Hand-painted resin reproduction (green paint, as on "period" columns).
