This catalogue was published to coincide with the 'Banlieues chéries' exhibition at the Musée de l'histoire de l'immigration from 11 April to 17 August 2025.
Paintings, photographs, sculptures and videos reflect the social, political and cultural history of the suburbs in France since the end of the 19th century. The works and documents in this catalogue illustrate the different morphologies, phases and approaches to these places of memory and transmission.
