Bosch. The essential
The essential work of the painter Hieronymus Bosch, 50 masterpieces reproduced "in accordion" in this boxed set for all audiences.
A painter of humanist culture, Hieronymus Bosch (c. 1450-1516), one of the major artists of the Dutch 15th century, worked for an aristocratic and princely clientele, creating visionary and fantastic triptychs, such as "The Garden of Delights", one of his most famous works. They are often terrible figurations of what awaits sinners doomed to Hell. They are moral allegories intended to instruct the Christian and help him in his piety, meditation and prayers. These immense altarpieces still fascinate us, populated by blessed people wrapped in fruit, tortured damned, half-man, half-animal monsters and other diabolical creatures. A teeming universe whose exploration remains infinite.
