Grand Palais x Saint James

Grand Palais x Saint James

Born from the collaboration between the Grand Palais and SAINT JAMES, this exclusive collection celebrates two French heritage brands: that of an iconic Parisian monument and that of a textile company established in Normandy since 1889. Together, they have created a capsule collection that combines architecture, the sea and craftsmanship, revisiting SAINT JAMES' iconic nautical style.

A collaboration that weaves the thread of history

For over 135 years, SAINT JAMES workshops have been perpetuating demanding knitting, darning and remeshing techniques, passed down from generation to generation. The brand's signature pieces, the sailor sweater and striped jersey, are reinterpreted here with the same precision: carefully selected materials, masterful cuts, meticulous finishes and manufacturing carried out entirely in the workshops in La Manche.

At the heart of this collaboration is an exclusive motif inspired by the glass roof of the Grand Palais. Transformed into a compass rose, the metal structure of the nave becomes a graphic symbol applied to each piece in the form of a round patch embroidered in silver grey thread. A nod to the monument's perfect orientation according to the cardinal points, and an invitation to explore new horizons.

At the heart of French craftsmanship

This collection combines the excellence of the GrandPalaisRmn's artistic crafts with SAINT JAMES's textile expertise. Timeless pieces, designed to last, where tradition, innovation and French craftsmanship come together.

Did you know ?
In 2012, SAINT JAMES was awarded the Entreprise du Patrimoine Vivant (EPV) label by the French government. This prestigious label recognises French companies with outstanding craftsmanship and industrial expertise. It is a real accolade for SAINT JAMES, which attaches the utmost importance to the quality of its products.

How do you pronounce Saint James?

Saint James is pronounced 'sɛ ʒɑm' (without pronouncing the final "s"). This pronunciation respects the French origin of the brand, named after the Norman commune where the textile company has been based since 1889. It is therefore pronounced 'Saint Jam' and not 'Saint Djèmz' in English.

Where is the town of Saint-James located?

Saint-James is a town located in the Manche department in Normandy, in north-western France, on the border with Brittany. It is located in the bay of Mont-Saint-Michel, about 40 kilometres from the famous monument.

How many inhabitants are there in Saint-James?

According to the latest official data, the commune of Saint-James has approximately 4,966 inhabitants.

How should a Saint James jumper be washed?

To wash a Saint James jumper, machine wash it on a wool cycle at a maximum temperature of 30°C using a special wool detergent without fabric softener, or wash it by hand in lukewarm water. After washing, gently squeeze the jumper with a towel to absorb excess water, then lay it flat on a towel to dry, avoiding tumble drying and direct exposure to sunlight.

How does the Saint James brand fit?

Saint James garments generally follow a standard French fit. To find your ideal size, measure a similar garment flat and consult the size guide. The striped tops and jumpers offer a fitted yet comfortable fit, with precise measurements available on each product page.
