One of the first French museums of old paintings after the Louvre Museum, the Condé Museum preserves exceptional works. Among these treasures are the famous illuminated manuscript of the 15th century, the Very Rich Hours of the Duke of Berry and masterpieces by the greatest artists: Raphaël, Philippe de Champaigne, Nicolas Poussin, Antoine Watteau, Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres, Eugène Delacroix and many others. The Condé Museum also presents an important series of illustrious portraits - including those by François Clouet - that make this museum an authentic memorial to the history of France.
This publication invites us to discover the history of this place and admire its rich collections, thanks to the many illustrations and texts written by the museum's curator, Nicole Garnier.
