The work and its artist

Jean Marot (1619-1679)

Jean Marot, 1619-1679 is an architect and engraver. He is the author of more than a thousand etching and chisel engravings, often representing buildings of the time, partially grouped into two anthologies called the Petit Marot and the Grand Marot. The only surviving plates are the few plates of the Chalcography, ordered for the King's Cabinet.
