This plate is illustrated with a view of the Château de Fontainebleau and more particularly the Horseshoe staircase, with its atypical shapes, built at the request of Louis XIII between 1632 and 1634 and attributed to the architect Jean Androuet du Cerceau, it gives access to the François I gallery and the castle's Grands Apartments.
