WRITTEN IN FRENCH
Established in Paris from 1874, Albert Edelfelt was considered "the most Parisian and most Finnish of the Parisians". The first Finnish artist to enter the French public collections, he became famous in the 1880s with his masterly Portrait of Louis Pasteur.
Through an exceptional ensemble, this first French monograph dedicated to Albert Edelfelt makes us discover his work, between history painting, scenes of modern life and pleinairism - a synthesis of realism and Impressionism - offering from his native land a striking and luminous image.
