On the occasion of the bicentenary of the birth of Rosa Bonheur (1822-1899), the catalogue raisonné of the artist's collection held at the Château de Fontainebleau is published for the first time. This collection was formed by three donations from Anna Klumpke, friend and universal legatee of Rosa Bonheur, who imagined creating a sort of memorial to recognise the artist's career, which was marked by numerous prizes, official commissions and the admiration of the Empress Eugénie.
This unique collection of more than one hundred works and personal objects bears witness to Rosa Bonheur's singular trajectory, the intimacy of her work and her masterly way of embracing the living through the animal kingdom.
